The home building and architect world should be open to the public. We need to advance our homes. They cost too much to be equipped with just 4 lights and some doors. There needs to more technology.

one thign i would like to see in more houses is better ventilation systems. YOu always find they have an air extractor but not always and air intake to suck fresh air into the home so you can adjust the humidity in every zone. Thats why alot of modern homes are often stuffy and too warm. my ideal home would have forced air intake and also and exhaust vent so i could adjust the humidity.

@hession14 You said your an architect. If someone had the money could you design and build a castle that was like the one from Beauty and the Beast??? How much would it cost?

Leave it to an architect to not realize that the resale of a building influences it’s liquidity. What a surprise, architect doesn’t understand the financial issues behind a building, news at 11!

If i had the money i would build my dream home, i think building your home must give it a much better character and atmosphere because you could say to every who visited your home i built this house, this is my creation.

That’s all fine if you won the lotto. Never have to worry about resale architects are for about 3% of the population . Home plan web sites are making them extinct as dinosaurs. ppl cant afford the track homes their in . just look at the post its great for dreamers so go out and make millions then find a good architect that was self taught ,those are always the best scrap the collage dudes . Frank Loyd wright never learn how to put things together like some one else.

This is pretty controversial issue at the moment, because of financial worries and the economy. Experts do say that a house should be a place for living and not as a monetary concern. As a budding architect myself I would like to think people will realise that homes should not apply stress in the economic area of one’s mind and that great properties can still be designed and built all over the world. Great video by the way.

Unity is a really special place and I was distressed to learn that it is on a Landmarks watch list because there is apparently not enough money to keep it maintained. Glad you like the setting and the video. Thanks for the comment. – Ilyce

Excellent points. Few can overcome the pressure that exists to design for resale rather than for themselves. If you want a house that is a bit different, there is bound to be other folks out there who’ll like it too. That is, if you did it well. Different is good but it still has to look good and function well. Love Unity Temple, by the way.
